What a decision is

Automated assessment with sources. Not legal or financial advice. Each decision is produced by fixed rules from official register records at the time shown against each source. Registers can be wrong, late or unavailable; check the linked official record before relying on a decision for a payment, contract or licence.

Using the service

• Use Project X to verify businesses you intend to deal with, not to build lists for marketing.
• Do not resell raw register records obtained through the service.
• Do not try to get around rate limits, or use the service in a way that breaks a register’s terms.
• Keep your API key secret. A lost key is replaced with a new one.

Register data

Register data stays under its own licence and terms; see sources and licences. Some registers, such as the New Zealand electrical and plumbing boards, are linked to and never copied.

Availability

The free service has no uptime commitment. When a register does not answer, the check still returns, with that register marked unavailable and the decision set to review.
